Welcome to the Florida Criminal Defense Blog

David Oberliesen is a criminal defense lawyer, who practices in Northwest Florida. David is currently the President of the Okaloosa-Walton Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and also serves on the statewide FACDL Board of Directors. In March of 2011, he was elected as the Treasurer of the Okaloosa-Walton Bar Association (OWBA). The following month, during this year's Law Week festivities, he received the OWBA's Young Lawyer of the Year award.

David represents people in Florida state courts on charges ranging from minor traffic crimes to serious felony charges. He focuses much of his criminal defense practice on defending people charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

David was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Sunshine State in 2001 to attend law school at the University of Florida. After graduation, he worked as a state prosecutor in both Sarasota and Gainesville, Florida. He is now an associate with Fleet, Spencer & Kilpatrick, P.A. in the firm's Shalimar, FL office. The firm represents clients in bankruptcy, civil litigation, corporate, partnership, and business law; criminal defense including DUI/BUI; estate planning; franchise law; guardianship; immigration law; mediation/arbitration; probate; real estate law; and tax law.
